A 1950's ranch house in Rolling Hills Estates in Los Angeles County received a complete makeover without changing the footprint of the existing house. Modified rooflines, new large sliding doors, new windows and new horizontal siding emphasize the mid-century heritage of the existing home. A reoriented entry now opens towards the large living and dining space that gained a higher ceiling with new clerestory windows. New interior finishes and walnut cabinets continue the mid-century and California ranch style theme and allow the focus of the house to be the spectacular view towards Disneyland to the east.
