An underappreciated existing house with breathtaking views, was given new life with a new pool and a series of renovations to make the most of the home's prominent site at the high point of Austin's Barton Hills neighborhood. The new pool replaced an existing kidney-shaped pool that was in disrepair, but an interesting pentagonal wood deck was saved and integrated into the new design. A new media room, new bath, new windows and new landscaping help to marry the existing house to the site and maximize views to downtown Austin and the surrounding greenbelt.
