An existing and unremarkable 1970's era Austin residence with a curvilinear pool received a major renovation with an infill rear addition, a new hot tub and pool surround, and a complete rethinking of the rear facade and hillside. New curving stone retaining walls and concrete steps follow the contours of the hillside and the lines of the existing pool. A new cantilevered second floor steel deck provides breathtaking views to the pool and Austin's greenbelt. A new wall of sliding doors on both floors opens the house to the pool and the rear terrace. New cabinetry, interior finishes and improved architectural spaces create a modern and airy new look for this Barton Hills home.
